Autel Nano drone operation
Some pilots don't like the brick-shaped hand controllers that come with the DJI Mini 2 and Mavic Air 2, but I'm fine with them. However, I now prefer the X-Box-style controller that comes with the Autel Evo Nano. I also think the Autel gimbal control wheel feels more responsive and more responsive to subtle finger movements.
Like any modern drone, the Autel Evo Nano ships with a handheld controller that holds a dock for plugging into your phone, so you can view the scene and various flight statistics from the drone's camera. The Evo Nano's hand control feels heavy, feels very comfortable, and doesn't feel like a brick like the DJI Mini 2. It also comes with all the right buttons, including returning to the home page, a dedicated button for image and video capture, and a very smooth and beautiful gimbal controller. However, DJI controllers have space for joystick storage during shipping, which this model doesn't, so you'll need to remove the joysticks before putting the controllers in the included bag and store them in the bag's in the zippered compartment.
All three controllers will accept any modern smartphone, and they all feature back to home and video/camera buttons, as well as the aforementioned gimbal control wheel. They also pair with the company's respective flight apps, which are part of the flight bag.

DJI's Fly app is very mature and filled with tons of adjustable parameters, but so is the new Autel Sky app. However, there are still one or two issues with the Autel Sky app that will no doubt be fixed in a future firmware update. Thankfully, I had no technical issues when the bird was actually in the air.
All modern camera drones are equipped with a range of autonomous flight features that help users capture cinematic footage without actually doing anything. All three drones feature a range of quick-shooting features, including drone and orbit. However, both the Evo Nano and Mavic Air 2 are capable of tracking moving objects, which is a handy addition among drones.

All three drones can be purchased in the basic package of the drone, a battery, charger, remote control and spare props. However, we always recommend buying DJI's Fly More Bundle and Autel's Premium Bundle, as they both come with three batteries, a multi-charger, spare props, and a well-made carrying case.
Autel Evo Nano Series Price
The Autel Evo Nano Premium Bundle is £719/$799, while the DJI Mini 2 Fly More Combo is a much lower £549/$599. That's not a small price difference, so you really need to weigh what you've learned and make a decision carefully. Remember though, the Evo Nano has a better camera, better live feed and obstacle avoidance.
In stark contrast, the DJI Mavic Air 2 Fly More Combo retails for £949/$988 (£230/$189 more than the Evo nano), and while it performs better in windy weather, its camera Fits the Autel Evo Nano. Most of the other specs -- obstacle avoidance, autonomous mode, maximum distance -- are comparable. In fact, the only areas where the Mavic Air 2 beats the Autel Evo Nano is battery life and top speed. There isn't much difference between these drones in terms of standard mode speeds measured at no wind and sea level. In standard mode, the Autel Evo Nano and DJI Mini 2 are clocked at 22mph, and the DJI Mavic Air 2 is clocked at 27mph. In Sport mode, however, the Evo Nano can only hit about 29 mph (after its stats were recently downgraded from 33.5 mph), compared to 35.7 mph for the DJI Mini 2 and 35.7 mph for the Mavic Air 2 Much faster at 45.5 mph. Speed isn't everything a camera drone is all about, although you'll need to be more careful when flying the Evo Nano, or it might not come back to you in a strong headwind.

What's more important is battery life, but all three models here have similar specs and should only take a few minutes either way. The Autel Evo Nano has a flight time of up to 28 minutes, the DJI Mini 2 is up to 31 minutes, and the DJI Mavic Air 2 is up to 34 minutes. To be honest, in 28 minutes, in the case of flying line of sight, the excellent picture captured is more attractive.
