Autel Robotics EVO II RTK Series Advertises Video
What's in the video?
The majority of the video is in Chinese, requiring a bit of rough translating. The video starts by saying that in April 2020, Autel Robotics released the world’s first 8 k unmanned machine and then gave us a look at the current EVO 2 line up. The video then says get ready, the EVO 2 family is getting new members.
It then goes straight into the new EVO 2 Pro 6 k RTK featuring all the same specs as the current EVO 2 Pro, just with an added RTK module on top. The video then introduces the EVO 2 Dual RTK, which also has the same feature set as the current EVO 2 Dual with the added RTK module on top.
What's the RTK Module?
Real-time kinematic (RTK) positioning is a satellite navigation technique used to enhance the precision of position data derived from satellite-based positioning systems (global navigation satellite systems, GNSS) such as GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, NavIC, and BeiDou, explains Wikipedia.
EVO II RTK Module
As the video show, The RTK functionality seems to be a module that can be attached to the top of the drone towards the front. The major benefit of RTK or Real-Time Kinematic improves the accuracy of a drone, which means repeat flights can be produced for inspection purposes and improves land surveying.
Autel Evo II Pro RTK and Autel EVO II Dual 640T RTK will be introduced in China first. And then will release these two unmanned aircraft available in the rest of the world as well. And two recent updates to the Autel Explorer app also confirm these two drones from Autel as the app now offers support for RTK.
